The 12 Day Officers 建除十二神

The Day Officer is one of twelve rotating duties that mark the character of each day. Each officer says what a day is for.

Establish 建

What you start today takes shape — plan and open; do not demolish.

Jian 建

Remove 除

Sweep out the old — clean, treat, settle debts; skip the celebrations.

Chu 除

Full 满

Ding 定

Close 闭

Doors close — mend, seal, finish quietly; no launches, no travel.

The 12 Day Spirits 黄黑道十二值神

Twelve spirits rotate over the calendar days, six auspicious (yellow path) and six inauspicious (black path). In everyday reading they are folded into the day rating; the names here are the traditional layer.

The Ten Gods and their five families 十神

The Ten Gods describe the ten relationships between the day master of your BaZi chart and the element of a given day. In daily readings they collapse into five families — Self, Output, Wealth, Influence, Resource — each with its own tone for the day.

Each passing day carries an Earthly Branch. Its geometry against the four branches of your natal chart produces one of seven relations — from Clash to Six Harmony — which colors the day for you personally.

The 24 Solar Terms 二十四节气

Twenty-four solar terms split the solar year into roughly fifteen-day segments, each naming a turn in the season. The almanac months run term to term, so these dates — not the 1st — mark true month boundaries in date selection.

The ten Heavenly Stems 十天干

Ten stems, each an element in its Yang or Yin polarity, pair with the twelve branches to count days, months and years in a 60-step cycle.

The twelve Earthly Branches and zodiac 十二地支

Twelve branches carry the zodiac animals and mark hours, days, months and years. Your zodiac sign in this system is the animal of your birth-year branch.

The Five Elements 五行

Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water describe a day and a chart by their generating and controlling relationships; balance against your own chart is what the daily score measures.

Do and Avoid — the traditional activity lexicon 宜忌词典

The almanac advises by naming concrete activities: every day lists what is suitable ("Do") and what is not ("Avoid") from this traditional lexicon, translated one-to-one and used consistently across the product.
